Art Week:  Outdoor Summer Camp at Waterloo Rec

Recommended for ages 5-12

Get ready for a week of essy, creative fun at Art Week!

Held at the Waterloo Recreation Center, this outdoor camp is all about letting kids explore, experiment and create in ways we just can't do inside.  From splatter-style projects to hands-on painting and mixed media, each day is filled with colorful creativity and high-energy fun.

Dates:  August 17-21
Time:  3:00PM - 5:00PM daily
Location:  Waterloo Recreation Center

Throughout the week, campers will enjoy a variety of art activities, including:

• "Frisbee Art" (a camper favorite)
• Canvas painting
• Drawing and mixed media projects
• Open ended, hands-on art that encourages creativity and exploration

End-of-Week Celebration:
We wrap up the week by tie-dyeing Artist's Lounge t-shirts with a balloon fight!  Please send your child with swimming goggles for the final day.

This camp is perfect for kids who love to create, try new things and aren't afraid to get a little messy along the way.

Creative Kids:  Fall Highland Cow Ceramics

How cute is this little cow?

Join us for a special Creative Kids ceramic event where young artists will paint their very own Highland Cow!

We'll work together to bring our shaggy little cows to life, from their fluffy coats and big horns to their adorable faces.  Kids can use our example for inspiration or choose their own colors and get creative with their cow.

To finish them off, we'll add a small cluster of fall-colored flowers near one of the horns

Creative Kids:  Mushroom House
Saturday, September 26th, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Step into a whimsicial little world with our Mushroom House!

During this Creative Kids painting event, young artists will be guided step-by-step as they create a colorful mushroom house complete with glowing windows, a cozy little door, flowers and plenty of fun details.  

Kids can follow along with our example and add their own creative touches to make their mushroom house completley unique!

No painting experience needed - just come ready to create!

$25 per painter
