Summer Art Camp 2026:  Art Through the Decades

Travel through time with art!  Campers will explore creative trends and styles from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's through fun, hands-on projects.

Projects may include:

  • Tie-Dye socks and Groovy painting (70's)
  • Pixel Art & Shutter Shades (80's)
  • DIY Pogs and Shrinky Dinks (90's)
  • Galaxy Glitter Jars and 3D Art (2000's)

A fun and nostalgic week packed with a variety of creative experiences!

Camp Details:
July 27th - July 30th | Monday-Thursday
PreK-2nd Grade:  1:00-3:00PM
3rd-6th Grade:  3:30-5:30PM

  • All supplies included
  • Projects go home daily
  • Aprons provided

Includes participation in our End-of-Summer Art Show

Reach new heights of creativity with us. On Thursday, July 30th, join us for Love You to the Treetops — an adorable and heartwarming scene featuring a gentle giraffe and her little one sharing a sweet moment against a bold blue sky. This painting captures love, connection, and that tender bond that stretches as high as the treetops.

Art Week: Outdoor Summer Camp

Art Week:  Outdoor Summer Camp at Waterloo Rec
Early Bird:  $60 per child using code EB15 (March 27 - July 31)
Recommended for ages 5-12

Get ready for a week of essy, creative fun at Art Week!

Held at the Waterloo Recreation Center, this outdoor camp is all about letting kids explore, experiment and create in ways we just can't do inside.  From splatter-style projects to hands-on painting and mixed media, each day is filled with colorful creativity and high-energy fun.

Dates:  August 17-21
Time:  3:00PM - 5:00PM daily
Location:  Waterloo Recreation Center

Throughout the week, campers will enjoy a variety of art activities, including:

  • "Frisbee Art" (a camper favorite)
  • Canvas painting
  • Drawing and mixed media projects
  • Open ended, hands-on art that encourages creativity and exploration

End-of-Week Celebration:
We wrap up the week by tie-dyeing Artist's Lounge t-shirts with a balloon fight!  Please send your child with swimming goggles for the final day.

This camp is perfect for kids who love to create, try new things and aren't afraid to get a little messy along the way.

Join us for an evening of reflection, remembrance, and creativity.

On Friday, September 11th, we will paint Never Forget — a powerful tribute featuring the New York City skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and the beams of light rising into the night sky in honor of those we lost.

This meaningful piece was first painted in 2020 by Dale Pemberton and Resident Artist William Clinton, created as a way to remember, reflect, and honor the resilience of our nation and the memory of those affected by September 11th.

William will guide you step by step as you create this striking and thoughtful painting. No experience needed.
